Sleeping for learning
It's a discussion about how affects sleep in our ability to learn and if you sleep badly you don't have a good health
Randy Gardner holds the world record for the longest period of time without sleep in 1965. Do you know how long he stayed awake for?
They talk the link between the sleep and the ability to learn, because researchers from Boston college have found an interesting factor between the lack of sleep and how affects the success in school. In fact, If you sleep less hours you are not interested in school subjects.
Then, they talk about how affects all technology in this case because students are sleeping very late using their computers, smatphones, etc.
Later we listening to William Myers, Principal at South River High School says: the principal reason of this is because classes have to be exciting and interesting, put a lot of work into keeping exciting about school. But Rob and Finn said this a challenge because if you put all you effort to work harder could be stress and getting sleepy and lacking in energy and how affects in you heath, mood and behavior all this problems sometimes are provoke if you are "lacking in energy"
It was unusual some words such as:
lethargic that it means
lacking in energy
fourthy winks: brief sleep
tetchy: unhappy
In my opinion, this problem are very usual in Chile, because students have problems with motivation in school, they sleep later in bed using a computer o their smartphones and they wake up earlier. Sometimes people are aggressive in subway or bus because they need sleep more. We need go to bed earlier to resolve this problem.
